I made this guy for the ROTG St. Patrick’s day contest.
His name is actually Quinn D’Arcy and not St. Patrick, whom his holiday is celebrated for, though he did guide the man in his time.
He is a Faery spirit, mischievous but not cruel. His saying is that luck is made from hard work, and he takes his work seriously. His job is to guard Sandy’s dream sand when he is away, hence the gold dust. He loves to see people work hard for what they love and will sometimes reward them with a bit of Sandy’s sand.
A lot of his abilities come from hanging around Sandy’s sand, but he still has a lot of tricks up his sleeves. So many in fact that if you get him angry, don’t ever fall asleep again.
Personality-wise, he’s very traditional and hard working. If he assigned a task, he will always give his best. However, he does have a mischievous, playful side and can get carried away. He is great pals with Sandy and rivalry with all the yetis and elves.
Not much else to say except he likes to drink and is determined to beat Sandy in a drinking contest.
Oh! And if you look closely, you will see a few Celtic symbols in the picture;
The brooch is an Triquetra: Latin meaning "three-cornered." It's a holy symbol, and it's meanings are many. It varies in its aspects of spirit, nature, being-ness, and of the cosmos. The buttons are Double Spirals, a sign of balance and also representative of the equinoxes. And on the pockets you will see the Three Rays (Arwen). The first and third rays in this symbol represent male and female energy (respectively). The middle ray represents the balance of both energies. The staff has a celtic knot and cross and finally the hat buckle has a Celtic square.
Well, tell me what you think and how I can improve.
